Meet Our Staff

Mike has served Mercy Road Church since January 2017 and has been married to Erica since 2005. The couple have been friends since middle school and have three wonderful kids; Clark, Isaac and Adeline. Mike came to Mercy Road having formerly served at Christian Assembly in Los Angeles, Faith Covenant in Burnsville, and Hosanna Church in Lakeville. Mike also served as an Army Chaplain both stateside and on active duty in the War in Iraq after receiving his M.Div. from Fuller Seminary. Mike is passionate about encouraging people to follow Jesus, changed lives, and eternity.  Mike has a gift for preaching, teaching, creative problem solving, and mercy.

Chris Book is a highly experienced ministry professional with over 25 years of service, specializing in strategic growth and organizational leadership. Known for his tenure as an Executive Pastor at multiple large, multi-site churches, Chris has a proven track record of successfully launching multi-site strategies and new campuses. He holds an MA in Organizational Leadership and calls the Minneapolis area home, where he lives with his wife of 23 years and their three children.

Chad was the Senior Pastor of Cross of Christ Community Church in Lakeville for 12 years until they merged with Mercy Road Church. He is married to Carrie and has two adult children: Jordan who is married to Mark Prescher and son Joshua. Chad and Carrie have two grandchildren. Before his time at Cross of Christ Community Church, Chad was a Campus Pastor at Friendship Church in Prior Lake.

Chad has a Masters in Transformational Leadership from Bethel Seminary. He loves to teach and preach the Word of God and also loves to serve as a shepherd to those God brings into his life.

Kerry never imagined working for a church! She has always been passionate about encouraging kids and families but never felt “qualified” for ministry. In 2018, after five years of volunteering at Mercy Road, Kerry accepted the invitation to lead Mercy Road’s Kids Ministry and loves her job. Kerry knows firsthand how a relationship with Jesus can completely change a person’s life and feels humbled to share God’s love with our youngest souls, as well as encouraging their parents. In March 2023, Kerry completed her final year at The Central School of Ministry (The Evangelical Church graduate-level ministry training program) and is now a credentialed children’s pastor. Kerry and her husband Len have a 25 year old daughter named Molly. Kerry previously worked in a school district for 12 years in the special education department, where her passion and skill-sets for helping kids and families matured.

Steph and her family have been attending Mercy Road since 2020. She along with her husband Matt and 2 boys, Bo and Vance, were thrilled to find a church family here at Mercy Road.

She had been at CROSSROADS (now merged with Mercy Road Church) for over 19 years serving in many roles, but her passion is working with children and creating fun events that reach out to our community with love and faith, teaching children about Jesus in a hands-on engaging way.

Carla grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and has been in Minnesota since August 2023 as an aupair. She absolutely loves spending time at the beach and being outdoors. Carla has been involved in kids ministry since the age of 13. She has a really big heart and passion when it comes to working with kids! There is nothing that makes her more happy than the bright smile of a child.

Ryan Temmel was born and raised in Minnesota and studied music at North Central University. He has served in a variety of worship leadership roles, leading worship for all age ranges and loves building teams where people can utilize their giftings. After stepping back from full-time ministry to pursue a career in real estate, Ryan and his wife, Priya, began attending Mercy Road, where they’ve been part of the community for the past two and a half years. When the opportunity arose to help lead worship in this season, Ryan felt a stirring in his heart and is excited to serve and support the Mercy Road community!
